Countdown

Triathlon season is well underway across Ontario.  Recently an incident occurred at a race in Southern Ontario that we want to make you aware of:

A competitor unknowingly brought and racked two bikes into transition.  As the racers finished the swim course, and headed out onto the bike route, there was one bike left in transition.  Understandably race organizers and the emergency services team were quick to respond and started looking for the missing athlete on the swim course.

Thankfully, there was no one missing.  But the incident did remind all of us that safety is paramount.

The St. Joseph Island Triathlon works diligently to ensure that all competitors, volunteers, spectators and the general public are safe throughout the day.  This includes mechanism in place that ensure all competitors are safe throughout the swim portion of the event.

We would like to remind you that you are asked to follow all race rules found under Adult Race Rules  and the Kids of Steel Race Rules .  In addition, please only bring one bike into transition, and occupy only one of the designated spaces while in transition.  Your cooperation on these matters is appreciated.

We wish you a safe and fun race.
