Just one major difference between this year and last, and that is the introduction of a new Kids of Steel category. We’re thrilled to announce the new 5 and under race category, and can’t wait to see the little ones compete (we use that term loosely, although some of them can be quite feisty)! The important thing to note in this category is that parents will be permitted to accompany their child for the entire race (but only the child gets the medal!). You should also know that the swim leg takes place in water that is not over their heads, so they technically don’t have to “swim” (but it’s encouraged). The important thing is that you get out and let them experience this great event, and the pride they take in reaching that finish line can be a great confidence builder for them. We always have lots of great volunteers on hand to help your kids through transition and along the race, and we’ve had participants as young as 3 in past years. Don’t hesitate to sign you and your little one up!
