What a DAY! We got rained on, thunder clapped and then the sun beat on us … but we perservered and so did you! In fact a record number of you, 456 to be exact, came out to join us on Saturday. And we are grateful for it! So a big THANK YOU to the athletes. As well, a huge THANK YOU to our gutsy volunteers who braved the wet and then the heat.
And finally an enormous THANK YOU to our sponsors who make this all possible. Visit them here on our website so you know who they are and can thank them the next time you shop at their stores.
Results are posted! Pictures are coming! And plans for 2011 are already in the works. So don’t stop now … keep on keeping on.
You’ve trained, you’ve talked, and now it’s time to deliver the goods. With raceday this weekend, we thought you should know about some minor changes we’ve made to this year’s event:
- Registration has moved to the parking lot of W.I. Park, closer to the event start/finish area.
- Parking is now located off of Catherine Street. Follow volunteers and signs to access parking (Turn left on Arthur Street, to Catherine Street).
- International Duathlon and Olympic Distance Triathlon 10K runners will now do two 5K loops that will take the runners from transition along Shore Road to the 2.5K turn around, back to the start/finish, and repeat.
- Kids of Steel 12-13 and 14-15 age groups will do the same distances – 300m swim, 10K bike, and 3K run.
We hope these changes make for a smoother raceday, and more fun for everyone!
